Quick question about the rules: can teammates capture each other's pieces? I ask because it's going to be quite tricky to promote pawns unless you've got a teammate willing to sacrifice a piece or two to serve as stepping stones.
Wikipedia says: "The most common form of play is two vs. two in which allied pieces cannot eliminate each other."
I'm going to guess we're going with that.
Yep. No friendly fire / friendly capturing.
Unless, of course, they get turned into zombies and start an apocalypse.
