It turns out that the Shane we all knew was, in fact, someone impersonating him. The real Shane, however, found a way to get on the forums and the truth has come out. As of 2 September, the one impersonating Shane has been banned, while the real Shane is now among us.

November 2011 until yesterday... the Shane we thought we knew was not the real one... :(
