Title: Terraria / Terraria 2 / Starbound
Post by: Shane on August 01, 2013, 01:36:50 pm
Talk about Terraria, Terraria 2 or Starbound in this thread.

At the moment, I've five worlds already. I don't remember their names though :-\

Search on Google. I found a free download in five minutes.

Apparently, Terraria 1.2 will be released before 1 October.

If this is true, I can definitely not wait.

Not according to this page (http://terraria.gamepedia.com/Upcoming_features). It's confirmed to be 1 October.

Rainbow bricks would be strange, though. And cloud blocks.

Um.
So version 1.2 has been released at long last.

I already got the update. Ice Slimes are great.

The Lockblade (http://terraria.gamepedia.com/Lockblade).
It looks more like a Keyblade though.

I already like this update even though I don't have it.

EDIT:
Wow, it sure looks different! :o
I finally got the update. That's gain, right? ;P

EDIT EDIT:
Okay.
So far, I haven't encountered any Corruption, instead getting only Crimson.
I'm scared of the place now :-\
It may as well be a Flesh biome; Crimson monsters drop Vertebrae and apparently there are Hearts replacing Shadow Orbs.

To the west of my base, there's a Crimson biome.
To the east, a Crimson biome overlapping with a Snow biome.
Downward, a lot of water.

Upward... well, that's my next destination!

EDIT EDIT EDIT:
Okay.
My first world is Irova, my second world is Sylraphia.

Irova is mentioned above, of course.
Sylraphia isn't.

Fighting the monsters of the Crimson is very hard with just a wooden sword :))
On Irova, I almost ended up destroyed by a Crimera.

Sylraphia also has Crimson instead of Corruption, but I beat Skeletron, the Brain of Cthulhu and the Eye of Cthulhu using a character called "Shaie" that I used prior to the update.
I already have 8 NPCs, so I can get the Party Girl NPC soon, probably. Unless she requires the game to be in Hardmode.

Um.

Twin post for the sole reason of posting some screen shots I took.
This is on world Sylraphia, and was made mostly with other characters than the current one.
The current one is called "Shane" (duh :P) and he's rather weak compared to the other characters.

Mr. Gnudar Bones has been discovered living in a house made entirely out of bone. (http://www.createaforum.com/gallery/shanescavestory/0/1-031013185018-50854.png) Rumor has it that it was built by a girl named Shaie, who had defeated the Brain of Cthulhu and the Eye of Cthulhu, along with the Queen Bee and Skeletron.
It was also discovered that there are campfires immune to rain. (http://www.createaforum.com/gallery/shanescavestory/0/1-031013185018-5092486.png) Strangely, the rain clouds can be removed with a pickaxe or a drill.
In addition, there was also a tower... consisting of rope. (http://www.createaforum.com/gallery/shanescavestory/0/1-031013185018-5102209.png) In the opinion of Terraria-Shane, there should've been zip-lines or whatever it's called.
This ice brick house exists high in the sky. (http://www.createaforum.com/gallery/shanescavestory/0/1-031013185018-5111053.png) Terraria-Shane lives there. Everything was painted green. Well, almost everything.
A special building where Terraria-Shane listens to music during the night. (http://www.createaforum.com/gallery/shanescavestory/0/1-031013185018-5122038.png) He's too weak to take on the Zombie hordes, never mind a Goblin Invasion. (Yet he handles himself rather well against a Crimera (http://terraria.gamepedia.com/Crimera) or three... using a wooden sword and no armor. :o )
Clouds and waterfalls above the town of Aelita. (http://www.createaforum.com/gallery/shanescavestory/0/1-031013185018-513624.png) Even the torches are immune to the rain, but it matters not.

I was bored, mostly.
No, I'm not neglecting Into the Unknown.

...

Anyway, I have about 12 NPCs already.
Looks like the others are all Hardmode NPCs then. :o

I have the Arms Dealer, the Clothier, the Demolitionist, the Dryad, the Guide, the Merchant, the Nurse, the Mechanic, the Goblin Tinkerer, the Dye Trader, the Painter and the Witch Doctor.
I still require the Wizard, the Steampunker, the Party Girl, the Pirate, the Cyborg and the Truffle. And Santa Claus, if a bug regarding him is fixed.

To get the Truffle to move in, it must be in a surface Mushroom Biome. Which means I'm going to need a lot of Glowing Mushrooms, and a lot of those Mushroom Grass seeds and mud.
No idea how to get the Cyborg, though. (The Terraria Wiki has no info about it yet, either.)
To get the Pirate, a player has to have defeated a pirate invasion once. Pirate invasions are Hardmode... and POWERFUL, apparently. :o
The Wizard is a Hardmode guy, and is like the Goblin Tinkerer in that he's tied up.
The Steampunker will only appear if a hard-mode boss is beaten. She sells Teleporters (http://terraria.gamepedia.com/Teleporter) and Clentaminators (http://terraria.gamepedia.com/Clentaminator).
The Party Girl... the Terraria Wiki says that the requirement is "You like to party. (You need at least 8 NPC's)". Um. That's what the music house is for; maybe I should make that her house when she does finally arrive. She sells a bubble machine (http://terraria.gamepedia.com/Bubble_Machine). Wonder if the bubbles can be destroyed...
Santa Claus requires the defeat of the Frost Legion. Those guys are powerful, but the pirates are even more powerful.

So... yeah.
That's a lot of things. :o

Pretty cool :3

Yet... how do you handle Crimera with a Wooden Sword? :o
I tried, and I had 1 health point left at the end. Against just one Crimera.

Um.
Continuous attacking followed by using the terrain to one's advantage?

Darn...

I still can't find a free download of Terraria on the net. All I get is some surveys which don't do anything.
Title: Re: Terraria
Post by: Taylor on October 04, 2013, 02:41:30 pm
Just search and search; you'll eventually find it.

It took me two days to find one without a survey.

Few days ago, I got the powerful Paladin Hammer. From a Paladin (5000 HP) in the Hardmode Dungeon.

Today... I took down the Twins using only Vampire Knives. (Free healing from the Vampire Knives is awesome.)

And then I began to work on my main world, "Drea".

And beat the Brain of Cthulhu about 6 times. >:3
I hate that guy that much.

Today, I got killed by a Paladin, with Orichalcum Armor, and second time he got my health to 15 HP and Blue Armored Bones took me down. Even though I have full Turtle Armor...

But Chlorophyte Partisan is great. So is Wisp in a Bottle.

Um.
Bad news. :-\
My Internet won't let me upload pics of my Ice Castle.

So I'll have to post different Terraria-related pics.
It took me quite some time to prepare for this.

Remove those key thingies on the blades and those will look like swords.

Shane based it on the Keyblade from Hope of Shané: Frost.

It's better than nothing, Shane.
I only wish you made the Starflower a rose instead :P

Wait, I chose cobalt and mythril when you asked me what I preferred...
Oh, Shane! :-[

That'll constitute piracy unless someone brought a 4 pack (which is four copies of the game) and decided to give you one from his.

You can buy it here (http://store.steampowered.com/app/105600/). It's only $10.

Wayne, do you have the latest version of Terraria (1.2.2)?

Frost Moon (http://terraria.gamepedia.com/Frost_Moon) is apparently in that. :o

You guys know I was depressed the past few weeks, right?
Well, I feel better now, having done something insane.

I took one of my characters - Jmarl - who was equipped with the Hallowed Mask, Plate Mail and Greaves, and had a Lucky Mechanical Glove, Ankh Charm, Violent Moon Shell, Wild Star Veil and Jetpack. The only weapon he had was Vampire Knives (due to the ability to steal life from enemies - even mechanical ones) which dealt around 41 damage, and had no modifier. He had 400 max HP, and a Legendary Keybrand as a back-up weapon.
And then I went and summoned Skeletron Prime, the Twins (two giant eyeball robot things, one breathing fire and the other firing lasers), the Destroyer, Golem and a Pirate Invasion.

And. I. Won.
Without dying once.

Said character, Jmarl, will probably appear in the freeform RPG "The Battle" one day, though that Jmarl will have done so while it was a Blood Moon and a Blizzard at the same time, and a laser gun instead of a Keybrand.

...

Does that count as a Crowning Moment of Awesome on the character's part? :))

...

Yes, I do realize I sound boastful.
I'm just in a really good mood though. Who wouldn't be? ;P
