South Africans have only 4 free channels: SABC1, SABC2, SABC3 and ETV.
They're sponsored by the TV license one has to buy in order to watch TV legally.
The other channels have to be purchased in the form of satellite TV (think Cable, but with satellite dishes instead of actual cabling).
And because of the TV licenses, those channels are, therefore, not free. That's how I see it. (Hence, why I said "so-called" in my previous post here.)
Also, those are the only channels I can watch. (Although I only watch stuff on SABC 2 and e.tv these days.)
