The four newly released Pokémon are "Gogoat" (Gōgōto), "Fletchling" (Yayakoma), "Pancham" (Yanchamu) and "Helioptile" (Erikiteru). The region's English name is Kalos.

BulbaNewsNOW also says that the official site has confirmed that you will be able to customize your trainer with new outfits and accessories.

... This. Is. AWESOME! ;D

And a Roselia statue in the Kalos region.

This. Is. SO. Awesome! :)

My happiness flows free~

(Yes, not "fury". :P)

Also, thread's stickied, at least until Gen VII. Thread's also renamed to Pokémon Generation VI.

My favourite so far is Gogoat:

Nintendo (and a trailer) has confirmed that one's able to ride it in the overworld.  ;D

In the entire overworld or just in one town? And if this is true, hopefully this means one can ride other Pokémon too! (Like Rapidash, or Serena Xerneas.)

From what the Pokémon X and Y page on TV Tropes say regarding Gogoat, it's in the currently known town only.

It looks like Pokémon X and Y is even Darker and Edgier than Pokémon Black and White 1 and 2. :o
Apparently, the rating for it in Australia is PG. That's higher than the main series Gen V games.

Or is this because of the chromosomes-thing?

I knew you'd post a link to TV Tropes. :P

But considering the possibilities, it could be because of the chromosomes.
I mean, if that is the theme of X and Y, then either there are going to be a lot of large words that one would require a dictionary to know what it means (especially since I doubt school children will learn about chromosomes pre-Grade 10 - then again, I dropped out of school in March 2011, near the beginning of ninth grade, so I wouldn't know; and I don't even know if this applies overseas considering that things to teach are way different overseas) or something.

As far as I know, just about all TV programs (cartoons) get a PG age restriction instead of A for All nowadays, in South Africa.

...

Merely stating my opinion, of course.
If anything seems offensive, sorry, I don't mean offense. (Kinda hard to concentrate while having a broken left arm.)

More new Pokémon are made known, by the looks of things.

"Noivern" sounds weird, in my opinion. Wonder what it's based on...? But it'll have a new attack called "Boomburst" apparently.
"Vivilion" sounds as though it's related to Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion and Keldeo. But it's not, apparently it's a butterfly.

...

And also a new Pokémon X and Pokémon Y trailer.

...

Holy... Looks like the Fairy type is official now. :o

EDIT:
Vivillon is Bug & Flying. It learns Struggle Bug.
Noivern is a Flying- and Dragon-type Pokémon. It's signature move, Boomburst, is a Normal type move.

EDIT:
E3 Nintendo Direct reveals masses of information. So much info.

It says that Gardevoir is Psychic/Fairy, Marill is Water/Fairy, and Jigglypuff is Normal/Fairy. I wonder if this makes Mawile a Steel/Fairy Pokémon? Who knows~

All I know is, I'm excited now! :D

What the heck?

I'm surprised as well that the rumored "Fairy-type" turned out to be real!

This is interesting.

Finally, some more information. Wish there was even more info, though.

Holy... Looks like the Fairy type is official now. :o
Didn't believe it at first, but it's great.
...
Wonder if this new type is weak or strong against Fighting / Psychic?

Vivillon is Bug & Flying. It learns Struggle Bug.
Noivern is a Flying- and Dragon-type Pokémon. It's signature move, Boomburst, is a Normal type move.
... So it doesn't get Same Type Attack Bonus on its signature move? o_O"
Much like Genesect can't get STAB on Techno Blast, I guess. ^_^"

E3 Nintendo Direct reveals masses of information. So much info.

Just don't get over-excited. Too much excitement can lead to chaos. :P

What the heck?

I'm surprised as well that the rumored "Fairy-type" turned out to be real!

This is interesting.
Despite currently suffering, the surprising reaction just made me feel somewhat better. (Which is weird. Normally, other people getting surprised shouldn't make someone feel better... right?)

Even more news. It's probably going Up to Eleven eventually! :o

Horde Encounters are battles where one of your Pokémon must take on multiple foes at once. Sky Battles can only have Pokémon that are Flying-type or have Levitate.
And then three new Pokémon are revealed as well: Clauncher, Talonflame, and Skrelp.

... This generation is going to be awesome.

EDIT:
More news.
This keeps getting better and better :D

... I hope this means there'll be four rivals instead of one or two. ^_^"

But another Pokémon with Normal as its secondary type? Wonder if there'll be Grass/Normal and Water/Normal Pokémon next...

Anyone thinks the Giratina battle in Pokemon Platinum should be a sky battle, seeing as he's the only pokemon of that generation to not have a visible floor underneath him during battle?

Well, it can be Hand Waved into stating that reality works differently there. :P

So the first Gym Leader is a Bug-type specialist...

Interesting. Fennekin is a Fire-type, and unless the type charts are going to change it, Fire is super effective against Bug.

And Dragon-type is weak to Fairy-type attacks? ... Well... wonder if Steel will be super effective against Fairy-type Pokémon?
Apparently cold iron harms fairies, or something like that. (I really ought to do some research regarding that, to see if A Tale of Two Kingdoms was "correct".)

Anyway, moved to the Pokémon board.

I still prefer Chespin. :P

Apparently Helioptile, Gogoat and Noivern will be the first new Pokémon debuting in the anime (episode 134 of Black and White).
Alexa (their Trainer) will be following Ash and his friends to Kanto, by the look of things.

Which other pokemon besides the currently confirmed ones do you think would be retconned to be at least part Fairy-type?

I think the Clefairy line WOULD be retconned into one. Afterall, "Fairy" is in its name (and it fits perfectly! - certain Fairy-type attacks involve the moon in some way, and since the Clefairy line is often associated with the moon...).

Well, Arceus will probably get a retcon in the form of a new Forme (with a plate), making that a retcon of 17 plates and not 16.
That's all I'd think :P

Aside from that, my guess is that possibly the rest of the Marill line, the Jigglypuff line, the Chansey line, Celebi (Grass/Psychic to Grass/Fairy or something, I guess), the Togepi line, the lake trio (Mesprit, Uxie and Azelf), Audino and the Gothita line will be retconned to be part Fairy (or pure Fairy).

Of course, if this is true (in that demos of the games can be played), it's possible to find out - along with any new Pokémon. I guess the next Pokémon to be revealed before then will be more than 4...

Can it be...? Swordor?

If that's its English name (no chance, though), I hope it evolves into a suit of armor named "Armourn" and then into a knight named "Swarmord". :))

Well, the second tier evolution would be the breastplate only, seeing as how a "knight" and "armor" might look to be the same. :P

I think I need that 3DS....

I think that maybe with that sword you can actually wield it and smash rocks.

Poor Shane, though. He'd be left out of Gen VI. :-\

EDIT: So would I, but I can watch YouTube videos of the game. Shane can't, his Internet is too slow.

It'd be awesome if the Sword Pokémon can learn Rock Smash... or a new rock-smashing move. :))

More news.

Xerneas is a pure Fairy-type Pokémon. Yveltal is a Dark and Flying-type Pokémon. (Who didn't see that coming? :P )
Pancham's evolved form is a Fighting and Dark-type Pokémon.
And we finally have a canonical Dark/Psychic Pokémon! It's a squid Pokémon, and it's weak against Bug-type Pokémon. (Bug-type moves are super effective against Dark and Psychic types. Unless Game Freak changes that.)
And then there's a Pokémon based on cotton candy, and a Pokémon based on perfume, both of them being version-exclusive Fairy-type Pokémon.

And then there's Team Flare. Gathering money is their goal... so I suppose they're a villainous team who poaches Pokémon.
And then there's two new Gym Leaders.

(That's my best attempt to summarize the news as short as possible. 'Sides, certain people are too lazy to check that link. :P

Don't worry, I'm having a hard time remembering the 18 types as well. :P

I hope one of the newly-introduced Gym Leaders specialize in the Dark type... and that one of the unknown Gym Leaders specialize in the Fairy type, then all types will have had a Gym Leader.
...

I'm surprised Shane hasn't worked on the Canonical Pokédex yet.
Guess I'll do that in Shane's stead; if there's a forum RPG for Pokémon we're gonna need that Canonical Pokédex for sure.

More news.

Xerneas is a pure Fairy-type Pokémon. Yveltal is a Dark and Flying-type Pokémon. (Who didn't see that coming? :P )
I knew it.

Pancham's evolved form is a Fighting and Dark-type Pokémon.
... Some other people knew it.

And we finally have a canonical Dark/Psychic Pokémon! It's a squid Pokémon, and it's weak against Bug-type Pokémon. (Bug-type moves are super effective against Dark and Psychic types. Unless Game Freak changes that.)
Guess they liked the Brycen-Man movies? :P

And then there's a Pokémon based on cotton candy, and a Pokémon based on perfume, both of them being version-exclusive Fairy-type Pokémon.
Somehow, I had the feeling that there'd be unexpected Pokémon introduced... I was right.

And then there's Team Flare. Gathering money is their goal... so I suppose they're a villainous team who poaches Pokémon.
... Didn't see that one coming...
Xerneas is the Life Pokémon, Yveltal the Death Pokémon. (Okay, it's the Destruction Pokémon, but Yveltal learns Death Wing, effectively making Yveltal the Death Pokémon in a way. :P)
You'd think the villainous team would try to kill humanity or Pokémon out of existence while another would try to create more people and Pokémon somehow.

And then there's two new Gym Leaders.
Nothing new, really. They're too unknown. :P
But if one of them is mysterious, that means there's a chance he/she is a Dark-type Gym Leader!

(That's my best attempt to summarize the news as short as possible. 'Sides, certain people are too lazy to check that link. :P
OBJECTION!
Xerneas' ability is Fairy Aura, and Yveltal's ability is Dark Aura.
The squid Pokémon can have Suction Cups or Contrary as abilities.
Proof that I checked that link. :P

All this Fairy types and all is giving me problems remembering all 18 types. :P
Don't worry, I'm having a hard time remembering the 18 types as well. :P
Who doesn't? :P

I'm surprised Shane hasn't worked on the Canonical Pokédex yet.
Guess I'll do that in Shane's stead; if there's a forum RPG for Pokémon we're gonna need that Canonical Pokédex for sure.
I'm waiting for October 2013, Taylor. :P
